Boston City Hall
Boston City Hall is a bold Brutalist landmark, famed for its concrete design and as the seat of Boston’s city government
2017 – 2025|Boston, MA
BIMstream scanned, mapped, flew, and modeled Boston City Hall in support of plaza and entrance renovations. Using a combination of Leica terrestrial scanners and GeoSLAM mobile LiDAR, our team captured all 850,000 sq. ft. of interior space across 17 acres of municipal facilities, completing the full interior capture efficiently over four after-hours evening sessions.
With FAA clearance, we conducted aerial flights capturing 1,000 high-resolution drone images processed into a detailed reality model. By integrating terrestrial LiDAR, mobile LiDAR, and aerial photogrammetry into a single cohesive deliverable, BIMstream provided the project team with a comprehensive model to drive informed design decisions for the plaza and entrance renovations.
